A Note From The Superintendent
Kelly Bowen
Wednesday, September 30, 2020

We are about to finish our ninth week of school without any COVID-19 stops.  In a word, I am surprised.  When we started the school year, I would not have believed we would make it this far without some type of interruption.

We have not had any students with the virus at school.  Because we are following CDC regulations, we have had to send two teachers and 6 students home to quarantine because of exposure to the virus from outside circumstances.  This is a precautionary measure.

I want to give credit where credit is due.  Our school board has been strong in taking a leadership role supporting the opening of school, making sure our sports programs continue, promoting guidelines and safety procedures so our students can have a normal school experience.  I also want to thank all Clayton staff, working in the trenches everyday dedicating themselves to our students and your kids.  Last but not at all least our wonderful Clayton parents.  You have allowed us to do our job.  You trust us to keep your kids safe while we sneak in a little reading, writing, and arithmetic.    We are blessed.

Will there be issues? Probably.

Will we have to stop and send everyone home?  Maybe.

Will we do everything in our power to make sure our students are safe? Definitely.

Once again, thank you for allowing me to work at the best school, with the best staff and best students in Oklahoma. I am blessed.
